“ Whatever you do, you do for the Glory of God”

WE are approved by God; WE have nothing to prove to others.

This needs to be listed first:

Land Acknowledgement : Frank Rugh, The founder of The Cana Lakota Medical School acknowledges that the land on which the school WILL reside on is Lakota Land, acknowledged by the United States Government in the 1868 treaty as follows in Article 16:

Article 16.  The United States hereby agrees and stipulates that the country north of the North Platte River and east of the summits of the Big Horn Mountains shall be held, and considered to be Indian territory, also stipulates and agrees that no white person or persons shall be permitted to settle upon or occupy any portion of the same; or without consent of the Indians first had and obtained to pass through the same

Purpose:

The Cana Lakota Medical school’s purpose is to support current and revive traditional Lakota lifestyle. It is not a guarantee of a degree; it is teaching traditional Lakota and today’s modern medicine, with taking care of the village and its people spirit.

The history starts with: Since the mid to late 1800’s the northeast corner of the present state of Wyoming was promised to serve as a reservation to the tribe. The area indicated was from the Wyoming-South Dakota border to the Bighorn mountains. This is why the main location for the proposed school is set to be in either Johnson or Sheridan County, Wyoming. The area would fit its purpose in two areas:

1. The land used for the school would be in the same area as the original promised treaty. Historically, this is important to the Lakota nation as part of a treaty would be acknowledged and honored.

2. The area would also serve its purpose with the mountains and valley areas. There areas are still able to sustain and thrive life over 170 years from the initial promise in today’s modernization. Providing areas for animals to graze and water nearby, the Bighorn mountains are a very resourceful area to educate here.

The Initial staff will include several teachers (hunting, bow and arrow, quill work, music, equine) to name a few. The role of the teachers does not change and encompasses as it did in the 1800s, to have all students be providers and protectors. The property will also maintain a ranch/farm. There will be joint operating between both and students may assist in those areas are part of the modern learning process.

I was asked by someone that I reach out and help others, where is your backing?  You are not a non-profit, your defiantly not a for -profit.  Everything you mail out, give away comes from your Veteran disability account……..Frank what do you get out of it?  My answer is Hope and Possibility of  a door only God can open.

So, I made a list of those I find a way no matter how small to support their dreams, which in a full circle supports my dream which benefits an entire nation of people. Lots of miles in this list, many more to go. In no order at all as reaching out, it keeps building.

We pray for these friends, we love these friends.
